On Tuesday 9th July Spring Brook Academy Upper School celebrated the upcoming end of the year with a themed sports afternoon for the pupils to ‘Beat the staff’.

The afternoon provided our pupils with the opportunity to have a go at 12 different activities throughout the afternoon. To provide a bit of competition, there was a staff member on each activity and the challenge for the pupils was to beat the staff member at that activity.

We had some extremely varied activities so that all of our pupils could engage with something and some were certainly very popular. The activities were:

  • Tennis
  • Cricket
  • Penalty shoot out
  • Skateboarding
  • Javelin
  • Rugby
  • Boxing
  • Archery
  • Boccia
  • Table Tennis
  • Darts
  • Gym Challenge

The afternoon went well and watching how the pupils all interacted and challenged the staff members, it showed clearly how good the relationships and trust between the staff and pupils are at Spring Brook Academy.

Well done everybody!
