Miss Rodgers and Mrs Tootill wanted to write a joint blog this week..
This week the staff team at Spring Brook have been totally amazing. As ever, they have worked hard, rallied around and pulled together as a team in order to make sure that our fantastic young people here are Spring Brook are taught and nurtured.
On Tuesday Mr Molloy took the whole school onto the field to play a great game of rounders. Mrs T got a little competitive! Mrs Lee and Mr Morrison helped us out for the day and I do think they enjoyed the Spring Brook experience. Thank you to Mr Wood for sparing his people. Mrs Lee made a fantastic chocolate cake with Cameron and Mel..
Jayden, Levi and Connor also had a great time making pancakes this week..
On Wednesday Mr Molloy and a team of young people from Spring Brook and New Bridge went off to the Wooden Spoon Tag Rugby tournament at Blackburn. Mr Pryce also went along for the day..
I have never heard Ryan talk so affectionately about anything before. When the students returned to school it was evident that they had had a great day. Proud of their medals, they all returned home with big smiles on their faces although Mr Pryce and Mr Molloy looked rather tired at the end of the day.
One thing we are particularly good at here at Dean Street is celebrating….and the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan was no exception! We had such a brilliant day and celebrated the forthcoming wedding in style. Our students made a great effort in dressing up in red, white and blue and the staff also did us proud, organising the Dean Street Garden Party!
We had party games and fun, a cheeky game of rounders..
..and a water slide fit for any Prince or Princess..
Our staff did an amazing job planning the events and bringing in extra resources and food (although the amount of food we ended up with would have been enough to feed most of Dean Street and Failsworth!) We were both busy making sandwiches and Sue, our lovely cook, provided pizzas, biscuits and yet more butties!
All in all was a brilliant day and we would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone for making our Royal Wedding go with a BANG!!!!!!
Have a great weekend everyone,
Miss Rodgers and Mrs Tootill
