As you know, here at Dean Street we love a good challenge and this week has been no exception.
As part of our Prince’s Trust programme, Key Stage 4 went to the Trafford headquarters of Challenge 4 Change. The programme’s ethos is simple:
Our Mission is to make your world better
Our vision is to provide learning and development in an innovative way that engages the person, holds their interest and motivates them to learn about themselves and others whilst giving them a memorable experience.
We enable people to overcome barriers which are holding them back so that they can realise their true potential in life.
Key Stage 4 certainly encountered all those key elements:
- Innovation
- Motivation
- Memorable experiences
You can see for yourselves some of the challenges they had to overcome..
The students came back feeling brilliant despite facing some real ‘hairy’ challenges, such as the leap of faith (Adam really overcame his fears here, with the help of Mr Oughton). Mrs Burrows had the helping hand of Mark and Ewan and Mr Murray nearly got stuck in the tyres! It was just a brilliant day and well done to everyone involved and who supported our young people through the challenges (Mr Wilkes, Mr Daly, Miss Sefton and Miss Boutlon) as well as the Prince’s Trust who supported the day as part of the ‘I Achieve’ programme.
Definitely memorable and, in the words of Arnie, ‘we will be back!’
Have a great week,
Mrs Tootill
