How quickly has this term gone? We have packed so much fun into one term, from fundraising to welcoming new students, not to mention lesson observations, learning walks, an Ofsted Conference, inter schools sporting activities, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme…the list goes on! Is there anything in Education that we don’t do?

That said, I am so proud of our young people’s achievements this term. We ended term celebrating Autism Awareness Month. On the last day of term each class wore a bright colour to represent difference. When we came together in assembly it was great to see a sea of difference sitting in front of us. It was also great to recognise how hard everyone at Spring Brook Upper has worked this term, both staff and students. I really enjoy presenting awards with Mr Southerington on Fridays. This week we awarded Oliver B. a prize for the most hard working student across the term. Oliver has shown great improvements both in his learning and his commitment to our school. Well done Oliver!

We have had another busy week in the Nurture Room with lots of work and activities completed. In our Maths lessons we have been converting fractions into decimals and percentages using a matching game..

The boys made sock puppets in the art and craft lesson this week to use in our emotional and social lesson..

Last week we made Mother’s Day cards, which looked lovely when they were finished..

In food technology the boys helped to make cakes for the bake sale across the sites to raise money for school. Well done boys!

On Friday morning Miss Rodgers came into Nurture to tell the boys the Easter story..

Well done boys, enjoy your Easter holidays and stay safe.

We ended the term raising money for a new pool table for our games room. Each class made cakes and took them over to New Bridge School to sell. It was lovely to see both schools together. The cakes were very well received. Thank you to Mr Lyons and Miss Hall, staff and students for your support. In total we raised over £100.

A short blog this week. Enjoy your Easter break everyone. I will leave you with a photo of Daniel enjoying holiday club this week…..
