It’s all about the ‘O’ word.
Over the past 2 weeks I have had the privilege of meeting Ofsted – not once but twice!!!!!The first meeting centred on our readiness to open Springboard Project. The inspector was keen to see how we, as a new school, were going to teach the Key Stage 4 and 5 and in particular Citizenship, British Values and PSCHE (Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education). I was able to show the inspector the brilliant work that Miss Brown has been delivering around these key areas..
The second encounter with Ofsted came unexpectedly this week. The team arrived bright and early Tuesday morning and were met by myself and Miss Rodgers (plus the executive team). In the 2 days that followed we were really excited to show how far Spring Brook has come from the last inspection and it was brilliant to see how our young people showed how much they love our school and the staff that are here. They really did us proud and although it was a long 2 days, we all pulled together and showed our passion and drive to get the best possible outcomes for all our young people. We even had a group out on their Duke of Edinburgh’s expedition!
Our staff are amazing. We always talk about Spring Brook as a family. This week we extended our family unit to colleagues from the MAT including colleagues from the teaching school, central and executive team, governors, trustees, parents and, of course, the man himself – Mr Quinn (or, as Levi likes to say, ‘the Big G’). Thank you everyone. We are awaiting the report with anticipation as it will tell us our next steps.
So that’s it from me. I’m hoping the sun stays out and we can all have a great weekend.
