Welcome to Spring Brook Upper’s Children in Need blog. We have had a great week raising money for this charity. Every year we seem to raise more money. The young people have planned great activities all week. We have had:
- pie face wars
- chocolate challenges
- marshmallow challenges
- leg waxing (poor Mr Stewart!)
- baking challenges
- cake sales and a non uniform day
Today the excitement was high. At 1pm staff and students met in Mr Coldwell’s class to watch the live duck race. All of the teachers had picked a duck to back in the sweepstake. They gathered eagerly together and cheered their ducks on! My duck Chewquacka came third I think but Miss Loftus’s duck Beakwell Tart was the winner!
With the cakes that we didn’t manage to sell/eat at breaktime, we took them to our lower school to share.
Michael took on a sponsored silence challenge and lots of staff sponsored him. He actually stayed silent!!! I’m really proud of him because I know how hard that must have been for him. He showed real determination, well done!!
A big thank you to parents, carers, staff and students at both Spring Brook sites for your support with another successful Children in Need week.
We are still counting the money and will let you know the total once all donations have been received. For a small school the generosity is amazing.
Spring Brook Lower School are supporting the Bone Cancer Research Trust’s Stamp Appeal and collecting used stamps at school (click here for more details about the campaign). Please send in any stamps you receive and we will make sure they are sent on to the charity. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend everyone,
Miss Rodgers
