Happy Half Term!
We’re there! Happy Half Term Everyone!
Lots to celebrate this half term.
Opening school with more students than ever and new staff. They have all settled into school life positively. We have had a few challenges, however the staff and students have quickly found solutions.
We have enjoyed having Watson our school dog on site as a regular visitor on Fridays. He has enjoyed going for walks and sleeping.
He is the most chilled out dog I have ever met.
When you go into the gym to say hello he opens one eye and lies there awaiting a fuss. He really is a very much loved and valued member of our school family.
Onto our learning…
I have read some wonderful stories in Miss Crossley’s class and some amazing newspaper reports in Mr Mullin’s class, Mr Roscoe’s class have produced great compound sentences, Miss Bachelor’s class have been learning about teamwork, Mr Stewart’s class have been cooking up a storm in the food tech room, Miss Mason Power’s class have been focusing on school expectations and Mr Coldwell’s class have been working hard in maths, whilst Miss Power’s class have been learning about healthy choices in citizenship.
All round a very busy half term.
I have to say that I am very proud of the students’ learning.
We do have a great team of teaching staff here at the academy who have worked tirelessly this half term to ensure that learning has been fun and matched to the needs of our students. So – thank you team.
SBU4
“SBU4 have done some fantastic work related to Halloween this week. In Food Tech we made Candy Apples, they turned out amazingly well and looked professional! We made haunted house silhouette paintings using our knowledge of tone in Art. A huge well done to Harley for an absolute masterpiece.”
Can I remind families to continue to lateral flow test twice weekly and if you develop symptoms please book a PCR test. Let’s continue to stay safe and as we approach winter, our students who have had consent have had their flu vaccinations and will soon to be offered their Covid vaccination if they are over 12 years old.
Don’t forget that Monday 1st November is a staff training day – school is closed to students.
Students to return to school on Tuesday 2nd November.
Enjoy your break ready to return feeling refreshed for the second half of Autumn Term.
Kind regards,
Miss Rodgers
