Science Lessons at Spring Brook Upper

Science lessons at Spring Brook Upper are taught primarily through the use of enquiry skills.

We aim to develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena and the world around our pupils.

The curriculum is delivered through half termly topics, designed to allow pupils to gain knowledge in biology, physics and chemistry.

Through their planning, teachers provide pupils with opportunities to develop the skills associated with ‘doing science’ including:

• Exploration

• Experimentation

• Observation

• Problem-solving

• Prediction

• Critical thinking

• Decision making

• Discussion
