This term, class 4 are looking at the design of a Shaduf in their Design Technology lessons.

A Shaduf is an ancient design to get water from the river used by ancient Egyptians.

Class 4 built one as a team, using Co-Jo equipment.

Going back even further…

They have learnt who Mary Anning was, she was a very important lady who found ‘curiosities’ and these curiosities are today known as fossils.

Unfortunately, as she was a woman her work was not recognised until after she died.
